2.4 Million Guests Stayed in Abu Dhabi Hotels in 5 Months
Abu Dhabi continues to impress tourists with outstanding results in the first half of the year. According to recent data released by the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi, the number of hotel guests in the capital of the United Arab Emirates reached 2.4 million in the first five months of 2024.
Monthly Breakdown
Data provided by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi shows the distribution of guests by month as follows:
— January: 498,700 people
— February: 507,400 people
— March: 433,000 people
— April: 500,080 people
— May: 471,800 people
Hotel Revenue
The hospitality sector in Abu Dhabi also showed strong performance. Hotel revenues amounted to AED 3.18 billion ($866 million) during the same period. The breakdown by month is as follows:
— January: AED 629.7 million ($171 million)
— February: AED 717.1 million ($195 million)
— March: AED 608 million ($166 million)
— April: AED 660.3 million ($180 million)
— May: AED 566.5 million ($154 million)
Geographic Distribution of Guests
Most guests stayed in Abu Dhabi city itself, totaling 2.179 million. Meanwhile, Al Ain attracted approximately 169,000 visitors, and the Al Dhafra region welcomed around 64,000 guests.
Number of Hotels
By the end of May, Abu Dhabi had 169 hotel establishments offering 34,079 rooms. This includes 126 hotels with 28,600 rooms and 43 hotel apartments with 5,476 rooms.
