Dubai to Boost Road Capacity by 50% in Ras Al Khor and Al Meydan
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is expanding the right-turn lane from Ras Al Khor towards the Al Meydan Street Interchange. The upgrade will increase the number of lanes from two to three, allowing up to 2,700 vehicles per hour instead of 1,800 — a 50% boost in capacity.
📅 The works will be completed by August 10, improving traffic flow between Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Nad Al Sheba, and nearby districts. The changes will reduce congestion and waiting times at intersections during peak hours.
The improvements will benefit drivers heading to Business Bay, Ghadeer Al Tair, Al Quoz, Al Safa, and areas with new development projects.
RTA highlights that these measures are part of the Quick Wins programme aimed at:
-
Reducing travel times
-
Enhancing road safety
-
Supporting Dubai’s rapid urban growth and population increase
For property investors, this is another reason to consider locations with advanced road infrastructure — homes in such areas see faster value growth and high rental demand.
