Demographic Boom: Record Numbers in 2024

Dubai continues to attract more residents with its year-round sunshine, diverse dining options, and tax-free income. In 2024, the emirate’s population grew by over 169,000 people, bringing the total to 3.832 million, according to the Dubai Statistics Centre.

This increase marks the highest growth since 2018 when the city’s population rose by 215,000.

Simplified Visa Processes and New Initiatives

One of the key factors driving this growth is the simplification of the residency visa process in 2024. Additionally, new long-term visas were introduced, targeting exceptional professionals such as environmental activists and teachers.

Future Outlook

Despite challenges like the pandemic, Dubai’s population growth has remained steady. Projections indicate that the city will reach 4 million residents by 2026 and surpass Sydney by 2040, with a population expected to hit 7.8 million.

To accommodate this growth, Dubai has ambitious infrastructure plans. The Al Maktoum International Airport expansion is set to transform the city’s south, while the RTA aims to double the number of metro stations by 2040.
