In the Sustainable City area of Dubai, trials are being launched for an autonomous delivery robot.
A pilot program for autonomous delivery robots has commenced in Dubai’s Sustainable City, developed in collaboration with Dubai Future Labs and Lyve Global.
Three robots created by Dubai Future Labs will deliver meals from restaurants and goods from plaza shops to city residents.
Technological innovations in Sustainable City
“These innovative robots are specifically designed for rapid delivery within less than 30 minutes, ensuring safe and efficient movement within the environment. They are equipped with systems for autonomous recharging, eliminating the need for human intervention,” noted Khalifa Al Qama, Director of Dubai Future Labs.
The pilot project and its significance
The introduction of autonomous delivery robots in Sustainable City aligns with the goals of the “Dubai Robotics and Automation” program, launched in September 2022 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
