Longest Mountain Trails in UAE Completed in Hatta
Dubai Municipality has announced the completion of the longest mountain trails in the United Arab Emirates, located in Hatta. The project features 21 biking trails with a total length of 53 kilometers, 17 hiking trails spanning 33 kilometers, 9 wooden bridges, and 14 rest and service areas. The Hatta mountain trails are part of Dubai Municipality’s efforts to transform the area into a popular regional tourist destination, as stated in a WAM announcement on Thursday.
New Biking and Hiking Trails in Hatta
The trails are categorized into four difficulty levels: Green, Blue, Red, and Black, each offering various routes for biking and hiking. “In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the Hatta mountain trails project has been designed to enhance the quality of life in Dubai and position it as the most active and healthy city in the world. Our goal is to implement initiatives that will serve the interests of the Hatta area, making it a leading tourist destination for both residents and visitors,” said Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, adding that the trails meet health and safety standards.
Project Implementation Phases
The project was implemented in two phases. The first phase, which lasted 10 months, involved expanding and maintaining existing trails, as well as soil stabilization. The second phase included the construction of rest areas and the installation of navigational signs.
