Railbus Development Hub in Dubai Silicon Oasis to Be Completed by May 2026

Table of content

Railbus, the start-up pioneering the world’s first 100% solar-powered, autonomous mass transportation system, has announced significant progress on its new Railbus Development Hub (RDH) in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The facility, spanning 50,000 sq. ft., is currently under construction and is scheduled for completion by May 2026.

Purpose of the Hub

The RDH is designed to support every stage of product development — from early concept design to final deployment. Once operational, it will serve as the backbone of Railbus’ global operations, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leader in next-generation sustainable transport.

Dedicated Zones Inside the RDH

The hub will include several specialized facilities to accelerate innovation and deployment:

  1. Engineering & Design Centre – structural simulations, lifecycle management, and safety systems.

  2. Assembly & Fabrication Zone – modular production and advanced tools for scalable assembly.

  3. Testing & Quality Control Lab – comprehensive testing of mechanical, electrical, and environmental systems.

  4. Innovation Lab – rapid prototyping, materials research, and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design.

  5. Supplier & Integration Hub – collaboration with clients and global subsystem partners.

  6. Showroom & Executive Boardroom – designed for vehicle showcases, strategic presentations, and investor engagement.

Railbus and Dubai’s Future Mobility Vision

Railbus gained global attention when Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled plans to integrate the system at the World Government Summit. Each vehicle will measure 11.5m in length and 2.65m in width, carrying up to 40 passengers at speeds of 100 km/h.

The system will operate on an elevated, fully congestion-free track, using ultra-light, non-corrosive composite materials. Prefabricated sections will be assembled off-site, minimizing disruption and significantly reducing infrastructure costs compared to traditional metro systems.

Why It Matters

The Railbus Development Hub is not just an engineering facility — it’s a global innovation platform that will transform the way cities build sustainable and affordable mass transit systems. By centralizing R&D, testing, and production in Dubai, Railbus is positioning the emirate as a world hub for clean mobility solutions.

Dubai is steadily reinforcing its status as a global smart city. And for investors, this signals a clear opportunity: the emirate is not only a leader in real estate but also in cutting-edge infrastructure and transport innovation.
